Edge slowed down to a walk when he got into the open field of his home. he saw the mountains in the distance and the lake that will supply water to his herd. the luccus grass swissed in the wind and as he stood there, he felt the sun on his face and body which shone. he felt the presence of the spirit of the wild horses around him and he took a deep breath. this is my home he thought and he stood there in the sunlight and he felt happy.

Lexi trotted through the forest, her heart felt like it was pounding a thousand times a minute. She didn't want to go back where she came from, thats it! I'll pretend like it never happened and with that conclusion she galloped on feeling the wind sweep across her face and skim her mane. Since the forest contained no light because of it's denseness (perfect for a runaway) the bright light ahead caught her full attention. She began to gallop faster, excitement filling her heart. Finally she reached her destination, amazed of the sight that appeared before her. Lexi could feel the lush green grass sway against her legs in the wind. Over to her right there was a bright blue lake that made her mouth water. She cocked her head to the side when she saw the wooden cabins yet no movement came out of them. Suddenly she felt her ears flatten to her head as she smelt the scent of another horse. Looking around, she immediately found the cause. It was a buckskin, standing in the meadow. He seemed to have a relaxed aura about him (she could sense that it was a stallion) that drew her. She shook her head and stood there. What should I do?, she thought to herself, should I wait for him to make the first move?

As Edge stood there he heard hoofs getting closer and closer and faster and faster. Then he heard nothing, he looked in the direction thinking that it must of been his mind playing jokes but when he turnd he saw a real horse. She was white, she looked scared, nervous. Like she was running from someone, or something. He stared for a momment then he troted over to her looking quite mean with ears pinned, to see her reatcion. He got close to her and asked, "who are you, where did you come from??"

Lexi carefully stepped back when the stallion came closer. She noticed that she probably looked tense and nervous and immediately relaxed a bit more. She didn't want to appear intimidated. She shook her gorgeous silky mane and tossed her head, "The name's Lexi", then she snorted, "it doesn't matter where I come from" she said, trying to make it obvious that she didn't want to discuss her past. Then she confidently walked past the stallion and turned her head to him, "is this where you live? Its a nice place". Then she looked at the bright green grass and looked back at the buckskin, "mind if I eat some? I'm starved" She said with a hopeful expression. She didn't want to keep running and this place was the prefect location to stay. Just for a couple of days so she could restore her energy and keep going...to wherever she was going.

He turned to stare at lexi and starred at her closely. she seemed like she was no threat. So he didnt want to be rude. " yes you can have some and you can stay as long as you like. As long as you know that i am leader and you will do as i say." he switched his tail almost to emphaise his point. "After you eat, i can show you around if you like since this is your new home." He said trying to make her feel more welcome and to sow her that he is nice.

Lexi cocked her head in surprise. This stallion was very pushy and yet very... welcoming. She liked that attribute. "Ummmm... Okay" she said, accepting his offer to join the herd. She hadn't plan to make the meadow her home but it was the most perfect place to have as a habitat. She bent her head and began to grip the grass with her teeth and pull it from the ground. A sweet fresh taste exploded into her mouth as she began to chew on the delectable grass.
[Accepted as herd member]
